I went on Matt's London workshop yesterday and have come home with a ton of inspiration and education. I'm a part time professional photographer but struggle when I don't have a model to work with and an environment I don't control. Matt took that on board and displayed to the group how with control elements of the environment to get the best possible results.

I walked away not just with great frames, but with a much sharper creative framework for my street photography.

We had a two on one day session with Matt that was great. We like his eye and his flexibility as we spent initial time learning more about our recent camera acquisition. Matt was down to earth and relaxed and encouraging while not trying to nudge us to his way of taking photos. A day like this in an investment, but for us a good one.

I’ve followed Matt Hall on Instagram (@the13thsecond) for quite awhile and have always greatly admired his body of work and photography style. When I found myself in London at the same time that he had a One-to-One workshop available, I jumped at the chance to learn from him and I was not disappointed!

We spent six hours walking around London, visiting many iconic locations and scenes that I recognized from his work. He’s very personable and an excellent instructor - he explained his techniques very clearly, showed me how to build a great image from the bottom up and illustrated how to take them to the “next level” with reflections, textures and subframes. The most important skill he taught me was how to “see” a potential image in even the most seemingly mundane scenes.

His workshop is worth every penny I paid and I will book with him again when we return to London. Great guy, great experience, great (at least to me) images!

I am extremely happy I did this one-to-one workshop and would do it again in the future, if available. Matt was very open about sharing the techniques he uses and tips on real life situations. He had carefully planned the route to get the best chances. The atmosphere was very friendly. All in all I am pleased to recommend it to everyone who's looking to dive into high-contrast and abstract street photography.

Did a thoroughly enjoyable workshop with Matt today. Matt is an effortless teacher, sharing his knowledge freely and easily. The workshop has pointed me in a direction that will simplify my approach and has demystified some of the perceived complexities I thought existed - I came away inspired and smiling (the day was a good laugh too!).

This was my first group workshop with Matt and it won’t be my last. What a great experience, I learned so much. A talented teacher and photographer. Thanks Matt for a fun, educational day.

I did a workshop with Matt in January (sorry it’s taken so long to write this) and it was awesome. It was great getting a glimpse into Matt’s thought process in creating such creative and unique photos. A lovely guy and a great teacher, so regardless of your skill level you’ll learn something and get some brilliant shots. So, if you’re wondering if this is worth your time and money, stop thinking and just do it. I’m sure thinking about doing another one, it was that good. You won’t be disappointed.

Matt’s street photography workshop was top notch - and compared with other workshops I’ve joined is the best of the bunch. He’s warm, positive and supportive - and gives tips, tricks and insights with huge enthusiasm and just the right level of support. A really great day and highly recommended!

So glad I booked myself on Matt Halls street photography workshop. Matts approach is very informal, friendly and is always at hand for advice and tips which was so appreciated. I learnt more than I thought I would, but with such a small group Matt has time for each person as we walked around his pre-planned route in London. His workshop helped me look differently at how to take street photos and his thought process is very creative and out of the box. I came away with 10-15 photos which are definitely keepers and very pleased with. Whether you are a beginner or just want to be inspired to be more creative in your work I recommend his workshop 100%. Thanks so much Matt 😀👍
